Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted and numerous residences and farm buildings suffered significant roof damage. At the start of the path a large equipment shed suffered significant damage where sections of the roof were removed and one of the main doors imploded. A 1.5 mi (2.4 km) string of high-tension power lines was toppled. A line of 17 empty rail cars were rolled onto theirs sides. Very large steel grain bins were blown out, leaving behind piles of grain. Widespread damage occurred in the Crookston area with the most extreme damage on the south side of the city. The tornado caused additional damage in Gentilly Township.
