A tornado 400 yards wide swept is from the sea. On the west coasl of North Auckland at 3.00am this morning and wrought havoc to the farming settle- ment of Mahuta and the town- ship of Tekopuru, south of Dargaville.
The storm crossed North Auckland in 20 minutes and disappeared off the east coast. No casualties were reported.
