Strong tornado ripped through heavily populated areas of northeastern Pensacola, downing trees and power lines, causing varying degrees of roof and structural damage to many homes, and damaging/overturning numerous vehicles. To the north of Interstate 10, two apartment buildings were impacted at EF3 strength, with the second stories of both buildings sustaining either major damage to or complete loss of roofs and walls. A General Electric warehouse and two townhouses were destroyed in the area as well. The tornado then moved across Escambia Bay, overturning a tractor-trailer on the Interstate 10 Bridge. In Santa Rosa County, the tornado produced EF1-strength damage before lifting.
