The tornado touched down in northern Marion County, and strengthened as it crossed into Sequatchie County. A double-wide mobile home was completely destroyed and the roof of a church was heavily damaged. A grove of trees were nearly all snapped halfway up the trunk, and a two story family home on a farm sustained significant damage. Farther along the path, two more homes were heavily damaged before the tornado lifted.
