Broadcast media confirmed that a tornado was on the ground moving east-southeast through town. Significant structural damage was reported and many trees and power lines were downed. Numerous vehicles were impacted as well, including on Interstate 35. At least six people were injured. High-end EF1 damage was confirmed by preliminary results from a damage survey the following day.
