A significant tornado snapped or uprooted hundreds of softwood and hardwood trees. Countless homes and businesses sustained varying degrees of damage, including several that were completely destroyed. A church sustained damage to its top floor, structures at William Cary College were severely damaged, power lines were downed, and two metal electrical transmission lines were toppled.
